Mirrorless cameras have been characterized by relatively low performance compared to DSLR, and portability based on small size and light weight. However, the Sony A7 series is equipped with a full-frame sensor to provide the same platform as the DSLR, while the body and lens have been lightweighted, and the third generation is now available with excellent performance beyond DSLR.
This is a comparison between the Canon EOS-6D Mark2 and the Sony A7R3. With the standard zoom lens section, 24-70 or 24-105, you can see the Sony A7 series models look a little more compact.
I compared the Canon 24-70mm F4L model, called the Ribbed Rib, with the Sony 24-105mm F4G lens. The angle of view is a bit more roomy, but the weight is somewhat lighter.
I compared the combination of the Canon EOS-6D Mark2 + 24-70mm F4L configuration and the Sony A7R3 + 24-105G lens in full telephoto. There is no big difference in volume or weight when using large lenses.
The Sony A7R3 is optimized for shooting at up to ISO 32,000, 10 shots and 399 AF points with a high resolution of 42.4 megapixels. Here, 5-axis camera shake prevention and 4K 30fps video shooting, and is equipped with outstanding performance.
The Sony 24-105mm F4G OSS lens is equipped with a powerful anti-shake function that offers the advantage of being able to use the angle of view from the wide angle to the telephoto through a single lens.
It is the basic configuration of Sony A7R3 camera. Unlike the A7III, the charger is provided as standard, and besides the basic specifications, the components have satisfactory configurations.
It is equipped with a full-frame sensor, but it is advantageous to have a very compact appearance.
Equipped with a touch-enabled tilt LCD for shooting at various angles, it has two memory slots including SDXC II, various input / output terminals, and a tilt LCD.
The Sony 24-105mm F4G lens has a somewhat larger size, but it is more compact than the lens of a DSLR camera, and functions can be assigned and used conveniently on the side buttons.

After using the Canon DSLR camera and lens for a long time, I am most pleased with Sony's high image quality of 42.4 megapixel with low pass filter removed and 4K 30fps movie recording. Based on 399 AF points and fast and accurate AF through Eye-AF, we feel high satisfaction in various shooting environments with excellent quality of pictures and videos. The details of the usage will be summarized in the next section.
