System Monitoring 850W Digital Power Supply NZXT E850 Reviews

The power supply is a device that supplies power to the PC, so output and stability are important. The E650 / E850 models from NZXT are 650W and 850W, respectively, and are digital power supplies with added power monitoring and control functions.

NZXT It is the appearance of E850 package. 80PLUS GOLD certified product, it has high output efficiency and it is monitored and controlled by CAM software.

The warranty period is 10 years and is very long. As a high-end power supply manufacturer, Seasonic OEM products do not need to worry about performance and reliability.

Package It is the appearance of the whole component. It consists of a power unit, a cable pouch, and a user's manual.

Normally, products with a diameter of 850W or more have a length of 150mm and a rectangular shape instead of a square, while the NZXT E850 is 150mm compact. It consists of a switch and a lot of holes on the backside. It is equipped with a Japanese capacitor inside and has overload, over voltage, over power, low voltage, short circuit, high temperature protection system.

The manufacturer and model name are marked on the side, but the direction is reversed so that the case is mounted on the case and the letters are reversed when viewed from the left side. This is because the power supply cover is not visible on the left side of the NZXT case, but ifuse it in a different case, might think that the printing is wrong.

It is composed of full modular, so I can check the appearance of the connector. And it is connected to the USB header of the main board to configure the MINI-USB port for system monitoring and operation control.

Standby power consumption of less than 1W eliminates the need to disconnect power when the PC is not in use, and a single-lane design allows for high currents up to 70A at + 12V.

All modular cables are housed inside the pouch, so only need to connect the necessary cables, so have a clean and convenient assembly convenience. The thick cable is sleeved, and the thin cable is flat type and is a luxurious configuration.

Try replacing the power of main PC. This work is not always a fight with myself, but a war with cats (?).

The existing product was the Corsair RM1000x model. I have been using it satisfactorily with stable operation at a high output, but since it does not support the monitoring function of the graphic card or the total power consumption of the system, I replaced it with the NZXT E850 in a car which was somewhat in need of PC related parts review. I'm a recipe.

The power supply has been replaced. The NZXT H440 case has a power supply cover that makes the power look less visible through the left side panel. What's different from using the existing Corsair RM1000x model is that the power fan runs at full RPM when the power is turned on.

CAM software allows system monitoring and fan operation settings of the power supply. Silent, Performance and Fixed motion can be set. In case of Silent and Performance mode, it starts to operate unconditionally if it exceeds 40 degrees, and 100% when it exceeds 60 degrees. This is only controlled by the user-defined profile, which means that under constant load conditions, the noise due to the RPM changes in the power supply is felt to be great. Since I do not usually use a lot of electric power, I set it so that the fan does not work at 0% through Fixed mode.

The advantage of the NZXT E850 digital power supply is that it allows real-time monitoring of system power conditions. This is a fantastic feature for PC-related reviewers, especially because I can see real-time usage and total usage of CPU and GPU items. It is very difficult to use external devices to separately measure the power consumption of CPU and GPU.

As a Seasonic OEM product, I have been using it for about 6 months and have a very stable feeling about the stability of the power supply. I also think that CAM software can be used for detailed monitoring and setting and 10 year warranty period. However, the fan operation setting is so narrow that the sound of the fan operation can be disturbed and the price range of over 200,000 won based on 850W product is a disadvantage. NZXT case and CPU cooler, fan cooler, lighting equipment, etc., or CPU, GPU, the entire system to monitor the power usage is recommended for the power supply. End the reviews.
