Intel 760P M.2 2280 256GB NVMe SSD Reviews

Intel SSD has long been loved by high-end users based on high reliability. The only drawback is the fact that the price was not so high. Recently, the Intel 760P M.2 2280 model was sold at a low price, and it was purchased for about 70,000 won for use as a backup drive. Let's look at detailed product design and performance.

It is a cool package design that looks like a CPU package. Genuine domestic warranty is five years. Inside, the body and instruction manual are organized.

It has a cross section on black PCB and has a length of 2280 to 80mm, making it compatible with both desktop and notebook. Supports PCIe 3.0 x4 with NVMe 1.3 interface, significantly faster than SATA3.

As for 3D NAND TLC memory type, 256GB products have specifications of reading speed of up to 3,210MB / s and writing of 1,315MB / s. According to Intel's data, 50% less power consumption than the previous 600P series will result in higher energy efficiency and improved usage time for laptops.

It is mounted on a desktop PC. As the existing main drive, Samsung SM961 256GB is being used and will be used for OS and disk backup. After formatting, you can check 256GB capacity.

NVMe 1.3 and PCIe 3.0 x4 support modes. The temperature in the idle state without reading / writing is 36 degrees celsius.

I checked the speed through the Crystal Disk Mark. I have seen that the current system is the AMD Rizen 2700X CPU and the ASUS PRIME X470-PRO motherboard. I have seen through the hardware community that certain SSD products from Intel do not work well on AMD systems. As you can see, the road reading speed is about half the specification and the writing speed is slightly lower. There is no separate system for Intel-based systems, but if it is read / write speed, it is good enough for main OS drive.

There is no slowdown in the continuous reading situation, but the writing situation is different. If continuous writing is in progress, the speed will drop sharply and it will be maintained at 200MB / s. The temperature is also 68 degrees NVMe is very high quality of products.

The Samsung SM961 256GB, which is currently being used as main, also suffered from a slowdown due to heat generation, so we tested the Intel 760P with a JONSBO M.2 aluminum heat sink. The maximum temperature was very low at 39 degrees, but there was no difference in speed. The Samsung SM961 model uses MLC type memory and maintains the speed of 1,500MB / s even in the case of continuous writing, but Intel 760P seems to show the limit of TLC memory.

As a result, the speed drops in the continuous write situation, but it is good enough price for the use for general main OS drive. In particular, it has excellent performance at an affordable price of less than $100, similar to those of other low-end manufacturers, and the reliability of the Intel brand is the reason for purchasing this product. End the reviews.
